Bloom and Wither

I never thought about writing a poem as I only like to read but recently after Peshawar attack, I have an urge to express it in words but still it is impossible to describe the pain in few verses.

O' my Lord
The lust of heaven
For the sake of chasing eternal serendipity
The hounds drained their blood.

Like a flower
They bloomed, they withered and didn't last.

The darkest hour
Never hopes for the dawn
In that moment, life shuddered
And walked towards the valley of death.

Unlike a first-born's cry
The mother was oblivious
To her child sobbing in the silence
She wept in vain.

Up on the heaven's boulevard
While watching the stars
She sings a lullaby
'Come my child
The hurt has passed'
Sweeter melodies, unheard forever.

Torture and its effects-Psychological perspective

What comes in your mind when you hear the word Torture? Definitely it means a lot of pain and is not possible to measure the quantity of it. Physical and Mental torture seems different but they are actually interrelated because physical torture leads to mental torture which develops horror in mind. Unfortunately torture is present everywhere and in all forms of government (democratic or not). According to statistics, it is practised in the whole world, 50% of all countries and 79% of G-20 countries (two groups are in G-20,one is G-20 major economies and G-20 developing nations) are still practising it even after the universal ban.

Horror can be differentiate through different means of torture. For example institutionalized torture is the one which is from the officials/state criminals of a country and it is different from the isolated torture which can be done by any individual or we can say that the non-state criminals. In both cases, one thing is similar-the feeling of helplessness because the victim of torture thinks that the one who is torturing is more powerful and he cannot fight to protect himself.

According to a research by Metin Besoglu, it has been found that the torture in political activities can lead to the worst psychological traumas. The reason which Besoglu gave is that every person has strong beliefs in ideas/perceptions and religious faiths and they play a vital role in the feeling of helplessness. It makes the victim feels not more powerful during torture by the victimizers. When a person is not able to control his feelings then it may have the worst traumatizing effects after a prolong stress.

The torture syndrome has been put in to the PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and CTD (cumulative trauma disorders). The main reason of PTSD is depression in a population. Post-torture symptoms can be identified through chronic pain and there is a possibility of association of this pain with musculoskeletal damage and also neurophysiological damage after head injury or hallucinations.
If the parents have suffered torture the children may have the symptoms of depression, headaches, aggression and learning difficulties. The other finding is that the tortured-ones have more possibilities in surviving torture with patience then the non-tortured ones. The need is to have a sense of control which can lead a person to come out of the traumatic stress.

After being a victim, vengeance comes and according to an observation, it is more stronger in those who saw their loved ones in pain after being tortured, raped or killed. So the whole family is affected through the act of torture on just one person and it can destroy the whole life of a family.

Have patience-Be moderate!

Ohh Mama, I don't have anything to wear so I need a new outfit for this party.

These ones don't match perfectly with my dress so I want another pair of shoes.

Hey Sheena look at my new jewellery set, you know it was very expensive but I wanted this badly, I cannot believe finally I got it.

Hey Ramis, check out my new iPhone, it's just awesome and I love the picture quality. It's a way better than your phone. What say man?..

And the list continues. We daily hear these approaches or similar to them from the people around us and all these are examples of our immoderate behavior. Cupboards are full with clothes and accessories but still we are not satisfied. Every time we do complain about random material things and are losing our patience. It is a fact that we are so much used to our luxurious life that we cannot imagine ourselves without it.

Sit for a while and question yourself that 'Do you know the difference between Use and Extravagance?' Only awareness can bring change in our lives to quit the extravagant behavior. Enjoy life and luxuries too but spend money in a moderate way.

Immoderate behavior is harmful in all aspects because it is a source of leading towards materialistic approach. Similarly impatience can only bring frustration.

No doubt, life is very short so we need to realize our abilities and capabilities and try to apply them in a useful way in order to help ourselves as well as others. Make short goals and enjoy after accomplishing them. Stop running after things and start running after purposeful objectives.

You just need a while to think about a change and then there will be just you and the feeling of contentment. There should be a firm believe on a fact that only material things cannot bring happiness. Your particular goal and the quest to complete it can also make you happy. Have patience-Be moderate!

Random

Have you ever felt like falling down ? Did someone pick you up? If no, then you must need to observe what things can divert your mind from your unfortunate circumstances. According to James Baldwin "it was books that taught me that the things tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, or who had ever been alive." Books can be your best companions, the ones which can hide you in their imaginary feathers where you actually find or meet yourself. Do you have a desire to travel around the world? You don't need to think about expenses, you can find all in books. It feels like you are actually present at your favorite place and you would be able to feel everything around you. The difference between watching your desired destinations on TV/movies or reading in a book is imagination. Watching stops yourself to imagine and reading develops imagination, refreshes mind with increasing thinking capability which none other source can do. Books can be helpful to find your lost self which is somehow involved in this busy life matters!

WANTS AND NEEDS!

The game of wants and needs is difficult to understand. As it is our belief that every thing is done by Almighty Allah so i was thinking that whenever i want to do something and put a lot of effort on it, Allah doesn't make it happen at that time but whenever i don't want to do that particular thing, Allah makes it a need for me. In our whole life we get stuck in this puzzle of wants and needs. We can't get out of it even if we "want" to... because life "needs" us to be in this situation all the time. Without this game, we can't move forward and we cant realize the do's and don'ts. Life will be meaning less without it...!

My least important questions to all Ulemas and Molvis....!!!

I was not a fan of Salman Taseer because I considered him like other politicians. But his assassination in the name of Blasphemy law made me realize a fact that we.....the Muslims have no patience. Though we always say that "Islam is the religion of peace" anywhere or everywhere but actually we are very aggressive, emotional and only know how to speak or influence others. Even our actions don't prove that we are Muslims and we claim that only we will go to heaven like heaven is our property. hahhh come on....before deciding anything, at least listen or analyse what Salman Taseer actually said about Blasphemy Law. Here is the prove:

In an interview with CNN in November 2010:
1. “If the High Court does not suspend her sentence we will pardon her.”
2. “The blasphemy law is not a God-made law. It’s a man-made law. It was made by General Ziaul Haq and the portion about giving a death sentence was put in by Nawaz Sharif. So it’s a law which gives an excuse to extremists and reactionaries to target weak people and minorities.

He just said to do some corrections in it because this law really needs some amendments as this law was made by a common man. I don't want to say anything about Mumtaz Qadri because in my eyes he is a psycho. If he is a normal person, then he must have talked about it to Salman Taseer before killing him. I just cannot understand one thing and that is "What all the ulemas were doing when a mother of two in Lahore on 8th August 2010 and  a mother of 3 in Larkana on 25th june 2010 committed suicide after killing  their children?" They told us that funeral prayer of a person who has committed suicide is not right. Why they dont come forward and help to finish the cause of these suicides? Why they were silent at that time? Why they didn't give any fatwa when hundreds of women killed in the name of karokari? Why they never spoke on other issues which are also very important? The fatwa on Veena and Begum is more important than other things? Is it?

Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) spread the message of Islam with love and patience. He never took revenge from anybody despite of so many difficulties He had faced and He (PBUH) never recommended it to others also..

We are also Muslims and we never bear anything against Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Similarly Salman Taseer raised his voice against the law not against the (naozubillah) Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). And this issue can be solved through dialogue with him. First of all there is no Islamic law in Pakistan and the countries with Islamic law didn't talk about this blasphemy law so how can you punish someone like that and about what Islam you are talking? Where was your Islam when the above mentioned things were going on in Pakistan? Corruption, dishonesty, disloyalty etc are everywhere..where is Islam? Where was your Islam when the religious minister did corruption in hajj operation? Why you didn't speak against talibanisation in Pakistan as you know that this is not jihad? Your support to them proves that you are also the part of fundamentalism.

Allah will also ask about what you did for the needy ones? Wait a minute...you didn't do anything and you just speak speak  speak and mislead the common and innocent men....Allah said that He will handle the one who said anything about the Prophet (PBUH). Pakistan has no image in the world and we are called as an impatient nation. Now this incident proved it.

YOU ALL ULEMAS AND MOLVIS HAVE CREATED THE FEAR FOR ISLAM AMONG PEOPLE , NOT THE LOVE OR PASSION FOR ISLAM !!!!

Allah forgive us and guide us towards the right path..Ameen
